  • What is the job of Insulin?

    Nov 29, 2016

    What insulin really does.
Have you heard the term "insulin resistant" in relation to Type 2 Diabetes?

It means that the cells of our body become resistant to the presence of insulin.

Basically the job of insulin is to get glucose inside the cells of our body, but in Type 2 Diabetes it is as though there is a barrier preventing insulin from doing its job. The cells become resistant and do not allow insulin to enter into the cells to bring glucose into the cells.
